45 CARAT LONELY
202245 Carat Lonely is a non-linear reflection on my (homo)sexual development. I spent much of my childhood online, fluctuating between the adrenaline of instant virtual connection and the alienation of my suburban bedroom. In this audio/video work, I reexamine and poeticize the digital and physical environments which casted my sexual identity, combining looming childhood commercial aesthetics with videos made in a failed shopping mall to discuss the dissociative, purgatorial experience of trying to plant roots in The Cloud.
This work was made under the direction of Katherine Hubbard.
