BITE MARKS
2022Bite Marks is an audio/video work featuring images made with a 2010 iPod Touch throughout 2021. I am transfixed by how the iPod’s miniscule form factor and obsolete image quality leverage control between device and photographer. To create these surreal, heavily-artifacted, low-resolution photos, I must increasingly obscure myself from the subject with digital zoom and physical distance. I find metaphors within this process for my relationship with love and technology, coalescing forces which harbor my obsession yet evade my comprehension.
