UNTITLED (SELF PORTRAITS)
2021Untitled (Self Portraits) is a visual and performative exploration of the power dynamics between myself and an older man. I had met him early in my undergraduate career, and swiftly became fascinated by our connection. As I turned an artistic lens towards our relationship, I struggled to create photographs of us where our emotional complexities were not overpowered by the sensationalism of our physical differences. In the spring of 2021 he agreed to spend 24 hours with me, photographing whenever he saw fit. In these pictures I find myself through his gaze.
